Kyle’s Karate (“we,” “our,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains the information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

When you register yourself or your child for our programs, we may collect:

  • Parent/guardian contact information (name, email, phone number).

  • Student information (name, age, class enrollment details).

  • Payment information:

    • For certain schools (e.g., Chesterbrook Academy, Bethesda Country Day School, Seneca Academy, Henrietta Lacks Elementary School ASEP), tuition is collected directly by the school or PTA.

    • For all other programs, payments are made securely through our website or invoicing system using trusted third-party processors (e.g., Square, Stripe).

  • Photos and/or short video clips taken during classes (see Section 4 below).

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

  • Register students and manage class rosters.

  • Communicate class reminders, updates, and schedule changes by email.

  • Provide weekly class reports, including photos/videos, to parents/guardians.

  • Process payments for programs registered directly through our website or invoicing system.

3. What We Don’t Do

  • We do not sell or rent your personal information.

  • We do not share information with third parties except as required to provide our services (e.g., payment processors, partner schools).

  • We do not send marketing emails or text messages. Communication is limited to program participation.

4. Photo & Video Use

  • Weekly Class Reports (Required): By enrolling, you agree that we may take photos and/or short video clips during class sessions. These are used exclusively for weekly reports, which are shared privately with parents/guardians of enrolled students in that class. Reports may be sent via email, either as direct attachments or as links to private shared albums (e.g., Google Photos). These photos/videos will not be used publicly unless opted in for promotional use (see below).

  • Promotional Use (Optional): With explicit opt-in consent, photos/videos may also be used for promotional purposes (e.g., website, flyers, social media). Opting in is not required for participation.

5. Children’s Privacy

We collect limited student information (name, age, enrollment details) solely for class management. We do not create accounts for children, and we do not use children’s information for marketing.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including secure payment processing, password-protected systems, and limiting access to rosters. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Choices

  • You may update your contact information by emailing us.

  • You may withdraw consent for promotional photo/video use at any time by notifying us in writing.

8. Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on our website, and continued participation in our programs means you accept the updated policy.
